You are wonderful, Amy. And there was a great documentary on Nyad around the time of her book on HBO. Funny how that disappeared (effing Zaslav). That was good. It was basically the water parts of the film. A lot of barfing, though. xo
Thank you, Sandra - both for your comment and for making me laugh (again). I never saw that documentary, but Zaslav’s wife was a donor and volunteer in a program I used to run that helped women get their high school equivalency diploma. She’s a wonderful, generous person. So although I take your point on Zaslav, I can’t poo poo them. They keep that program alive to this day (though I no longer work there).
You are the best, Amy. And I'm sure Mrs. Z is lovely. What is happening to HBO as a film major/lover eats at me (the opinions posted here are my own and do not reflect on the kind person who writes this 'stack). xo
New subscriber to your tonic, but long time me/CFS patient - thank you for all the information in a very readable condensed format (found you on the Visible community links). I am encouraged by recent research and impatient for it to move forward on treatments for all of us!
On the subject of research, are you posting as NIH ME/cfs webinar recordings become available? I am on the West Coast where the 11 AM EST start times begin at 8 AM which is way too early for those of us with sleep dysfunction.
Cathy, check out my post coming out tomorrow for the link to the NIH recordings. I definitely recommend the recordings vs. watching live, because they’re LONG and you can skip things that don’t interest you. Luckily they’re broken down in 15 minute presentations so at least it’s somewhat digestible. Happy watching!
Cathy, great to have you here (and thank you for telling me it was through Visible!).
You raise an interesting question; I haven’t been keeping track of the NIH recordings unless they appear in my inbox. If they do, I will certainly post them now that you’ve mentioned it to me. Maybe I’ll even ask in the chat on the next one if they’ll send out the recording after. Thanks for raising this; I too am not able to be up yet before 10am, so I really get it 😌.
