U.S. advocacy bulletin: Senate Long COVID meeting this Thursday!
Travel and lodging stipends available
Hi friends - quick post to let my U.S. readers know about an opportunity for legislative advocacy this week. Big thank you to reader Cathy for alerting me to this!
On January 18 at 10am ET in Washington DC, the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will hold a full committee hearing on Long COVID: "Addressing Long COVID: Advancing Research and Improving Patient Care".
There’s a small pot of money available for travel and lodging to help individuals with Long COVID advocate in person at the hearing. Please check out this link for more information.
If you are unable to travel to DC but have the spoons to make some phone calls, check out the Long COVID Moonshot site for info on doing so before Thursday. There’s an easy-to-understand guide on who to call and what to say, so do check it out.
If your Senator is not on this committee, you can still call and voice your support for funding and patient care. Reader Cathy says she saw a tweet that Congressional staff delete out of district emails but will take phone calls from out of district folks, so be sure to call instead of emailing.
In sickness and in health (and in solidarity),
✌🏻Amy
I thought you would find this interesting.
