The Tonic is a lighthearted, heavily resourced newsletter for folks interested in learning about long COVID, ME/CFS, and other chronic illnesses. Come for the info; stay for the whimsy. Or vice versa.
Wish list shout out!
No one has better readers than me! So many have chosen to support my efforts here via the Amazon wish list in lieu of paid subscriptions (which could jeopardize my disability benefits). A big Tonic THANK YOU this week goes to wish-list four-timer (!) Florrie B.
If anyone is interested in showing support for The Tonic, see below for the info. There’s something for every budget and any help is appreciated. (Note: please be sure to include a note with your gift(s) so I can include you in the shout out!)
The Tonic is free to read - Amy is so happy you’re here! There is no paid subscription option here like with other Substack newsletters. However, if you are valuing the experience and are able, please consider a show of support by sending a gift of health, wellness, or joy from this Amazon wish list. Anyone who does gets a 📢 in an upcoming post. Thank you!
Special edition
Comin’ at you fine folks mid-week to share a bit of goodness for your earholes. My new friend
of the Substack reached out to ask if she could interview me for her delightful podcast A Friend for the Long Haul, and we made it happen. Beth is a fellow long hauler, and like so many of us, she’s smart, funny, and kind, even when she’s dogged by tons of symptoms and trying to navigate her astoundingly full life (mother of four, a full-time job, a pod, and local mask activism - it’s truly astounding).I have been enjoying the conversational nature of her podcast, which is a nice change from the more science-packed ones I often listen to related to long COVID and ME/CFS. I hope you’ll not only listen to the episode I’m on (cheekily called A Tonic for the Long Haul) but subscribe wherever you get your podcasts and give her your support.
Links to the various podcast platforms can be found in her post here. You can also access her awesome Long COVID Theme Songs playlist that she’s been building by asking her guests to add a song (listen to the end of my episode to hear the song I picked!).
Heading out on my break
I am going to love up on my family for a few days and catch my breath after that. The Tonic will be back in your inbox on or around August 10th.
In sickness and in health,
✌🏻 Amy
I hope you read something really special and come back and tell me about it!!
Loved the podcast Amy! Enjoy your time off!
